gentle touch teaches you the power of touch to help you self-heal

this technique teaches you how to use your hands to focus your healing on specific parts of your body

close your eyes

focus on your breathing

slow your breathing down

breathe in, belly out

breathe out, belly in

mentally scan your body for any aches, pains, or tension

place your hands on your body where you feel any aches, pains, or tension

then gently move your hands either independently or together to different parts of your body being guided by your intuition

start by keeping your touch light. when your hands come to rest you can then apply pressure using your hands in a variety of ways

learn to experiment with different hand techniques using your palms, thumbs and fingers such as:

  1. effleurage

    gentle stroking

  2. petrissage

    gentle kneading

  3. friction

    circular moving pressure

  4. vibration

repetitive movements that shake / vibrate the body

  5. hacking

    light slaps or karate-style chops

  6. tapping

    gentle repetitive touch

  7. acupressure / trigger point therapy

applying pressure to a specific point

be gentle with yourself at all times

your touch should be comforting

if you feel any discomfort at all be it physical or emotional simply stop the action that is bringing you the discomfort

you can always repeat the action later in the session or in a future session to see how you feel, but again if there is any discomfort just stop the action and simply relax and return to focussing on your breathing
