  1. focus on your breath

  2. add some movement to help you learn

    lean back — breathe in, belly out

    lean forward — breathe out, belly in

  3. if you are struggling to learn try fully exhaling and sucking your belly in first before inhaling

  4. put your right hand on your chest and your left hand on your belly

    focus on your left hand being lifted up by your belly

    as you breathe in

    focus on your left hand sinking down as you breathe out

  5. don’t stress about your breathing

    learning new breathing techniques can take time

    the key thing is to build up slowly and enjoy learning this new skill

  6. becoming aware of your breathing is enough to start slowing it down

  7. experiment with

    • breathing in and out through your nostrils
    • breathing in through your nostrils
    • breathing out through your mouth
    • breathing in and out through your mouth
  8. keep reminding yourself throughout the day
